Through time and resources these organizations have supported the revitalization of the South Dakota Council for the Social Studies and made this conference possible. A major contribution was the United States Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools' grant to Improve Public Knowledge and Support of Democracy which brings together educators to secure future social studies education in South Dakota.
