If you are not currently a member of the National Council for the Social Studies you are encouraged to join its membership through the pre-conference registration.   As the national voice for social studies education and professional educators, it conveys the interests and concerns of its membership to policy makers at both national and local levels.   The benefits of membership offer a unified voice for social studies education and assistance in teaching through resource publications, educational opportunities, and conferences.   If you are currently a member your renewal of membership is administered through NCSS directly, not through the pre-conference registration.
